#DDMC Conference Q&A Guide for Influencer Marketing

Q&A for #DDMC23

Do you have any tips for approaching influencers about collaborations?

  • Research the right influencers: Look for influencers who align with your brand and target audience. Make sure they have a large enough following and are open to collaboration opportunities.

  • Craft a personalized pitch: Once you have identified potential influencers, craft a personalized pitch that outlines the benefits of collaborating with your brand. Explain how your specialty can benefit them and their followers, and how it aligns with their brand and values.

  • Offer a clear proposal: Be clear about what you're offering and what you expect in return. Outline the details of the collaboration, including the duration, the type of content you expect, and the timeline.

  • To create a win-win situation, consider offering incentives such as exclusive discounts, free treatments, or other perks that can entice the influencer to collaborate with you.

  • Be professional and courteous: When reaching out to influencers, be professional and courteous. Avoid being pushy or overly aggressive, and be willing to negotiate if necessary.

  • Follow up: If you don't hear back from an influencer right away, don't be discouraged. Follow up with a friendly reminder, but be respectful of their time and boundaries.

What kind of trade or discount do you need to give them?

The kind of trade that influencers prefer varies depending on the individual influencer and their preferences. Some influencers may prefer to receive free treatments or products in exchange for promoting your brand, while others may prefer to receive a commission on sales generated through their platform. Some may prefer a combination of both. It's important to communicate with the influencer and determine what type of trade would be mutually beneficial.

Some influencers may be willing to promote your brand in exchange for a small discount, while others may require a larger discount or even free products or services. It's important to negotiate with the influencer and come to an agreement that works for both parties. Keep in mind that a collaboration with an influencer can bring significant exposure and potential new customers, so it's important to consider the long-term benefits of the collaboration.

Your practice is really good at capturing the patient experience in your posts and videos. How do you do it so that the patient is comfortable with you filming them and sharing their experience?

Our office values Instagram as an important part of our culture, and it's a platform where many patients find us. In fact, many of them expect us to feature them on our page when they come in. From their very first visit, we take External Observations (EO's) and Internal Observations (IO's), which are essentially a lot of pictures. This means that patients are kind of conditioned from day one.

Patients also give written consent as part of their New Patient paperwork, and we always respect their wishes when it comes to being featured in our posts or videos. It's important to us that patients feel comfortable and in control of their information.

Before we record any content, I introduce myself with the help of my assistant and explain what I am doing. At that time, I also obtain verbal consent from the patient. Most patients are more than willing to participate because we provide exceptional care and service that I refer to as the "Dutch Brothers treatment.”

What's your marketing plan for getting more "Natalie-type" experiences in your office?

  1. Identify relevant influencers: First, identify influencers who align with your brand and target audience. Look for influencers who have a large following and engagement rates on social media platforms, such as Instagram and YouTube.

  2. Develop a personalized approach: Once you have identified potential influencers, develop a personalized approach that highlights the benefits of collaborating with your dental practice. This may include offering exclusive discounts or other incentives to entice them to collaborate.

  3. Utilize social media: Use social media platforms to connect with influencers and showcase your brand. Share before-and-after photos, patient testimonials, and other compelling content that demonstrates the quality of care and positive outcomes that patients can expect at your practice.

  4. Leverage patient referrals: Encourage satisfied patients to refer their friends and followers to your practice. Word-of-mouth marketing can be a powerful tool for attracting new patients and influencers to your practice.

  5. Attending industry events and conferences can be an effective way to network with influencers and other professionals who would benefit from a smile makeover and have a significant following. By attending these events, you can establish relationships and build your reputation within the industry, ultimately helping to promote your dental practice and attract new patients.

Ultimately, you need to track and measure results as you collaborate with influencers to determine what works best for your practice and in your location. This can help you refine your marketing strategy and make data-driven decisions about future collaborations. By implementing these strategies and staying consistent with your marketing efforts, you can attract more influencers to your practice and build your brand within the industry.
